Our new little bunny ...
Our new baby bunny lionead. She hasn't gotten her Lion-mane yet, but she will! She's a rare Blue Eyed White Lionhead. Princess named her "Princess Lulu"
To see more pictures of Lulu, check out Dustbunny Rabbits, the blog.

Name the Bunnies contest!
We're having a contest! KIDS INVITED TOO!!!
We need some good names for these 3 bunnies before we have the pedigrees printed! They will be for sale starting in 2 weeks, so I need to get some names fast! Grab your kids, check out the bunnies, and give them each a name!
All three of these fluffballs are girls. Two are "Sable Point", a fancy-nancy way to say "Bunny Pointed Gray." The other is a "Black Torte", a fancy-nancy way to say "Bunny Brown with dark points"
If we choose to use your name, we'll send you a little something for a surprise!
Ready? Here we go:
Bunny #1:
Bunny #2:
Bunny #3:
"Contest" ends tomorrow (February 26th) at 11:59pm!

Bunnies
There are few things cuter than 2 week old baby Lionheads. They are just beginning to hop instead of army-crawl, and are beginning to entertain the idea of hopping out of their little nestbox to explore the giant world of their mama's kennel. I dare you not to ooh and ahh over them!

I'm late in my posting of these. They were taken at 2 weeks, and *today* is the babies' three week old mark. Maybe if you twist my arm, or beg, I'll post new pictures of them. Maybe ...

Baby Bunnies, Day 6
We are pretty certain at this point that we have 3 white (Sable Point, most likely!), and 2 Torte - their fur is growing in nicely!

Two little monkeys go to school ...
Today will always be remembered as "the first day two of our kids were in school"

Sunflower, checking up on her babies:
SuperBoy is in 2nd grade, and Princess is in Kindergarten. School started last monday, but our district waits a week for the Kindergartners to start. SuperBoy started a week ago, but as of today, I drop SuperBoy and Princess off ... SuperBoy walks Princess to her class room, then runs off to his class. Princess is in half-day, so she'll come home for lunch and naptime before we run off to pick up SuperBoy.
Stay tuned for next week when AngelBaby starts Preschool. What WILL I do for 2 hours by myself every tuesday and thursday morning?! The options are endless!
AngelBaby and I got home after dropping them off, and after a few minutes, AngelBaby came to me and said "mom, where's Princess? I can't find her anywhere." Poor Kid! She's so used to having her big sister around - being 16 months apart, they are always right next to each other. She had an okay morning though - walking around for 3 hours like this:
Thank goodness for Lucy today - she was so obliging in being toted around like a teddy bear. I think AngelBaby and I are going to be using our museum memberships a lot in the upcoming school days!
-BABY BUNNIES-
Yesterday was baby-bunny day FIVE. They are growing so quickly - it's just amazing to me. We think we might end up with 3 Sable Point (white w/ gray accents) and 2 Torte (like Sunflower) Before long, they will be fuzzy enough that there will be no question, lol!

Babies, Babies everywhere!
I left the trash for just a minute, but that's all the time Lucy needed:

I was a bit mad - Augh! As I cleaned up a bit, I turned to give her the evil eye, and saw this:
I'm powerless.
Lucy is 7 weeks old, and so sweet, cuddly, and cute. She's also mischievous and feisty. She adores AngelBaby, who adores the puppy right back! Lucy is definitely fitting in as a family dog!
In other news, we are on DAY 3 with the baby bunnies!
Baby Bunnies, Day 2
1 day old babies (I had to dig the fur off of them - they were all clumped together, with fat, full bellies) I covered them back up after these pictures, and Sunflower went over to them after and rearranged the fur all around them, lol! She's such a GOOD mother! See the silvery-soft fur they are started to get?! By day 10-12 they will be fluffy and have their eyes open. By 21 days, they'll be mostly independent!

We had babies!
Our bunny "Sunflower" just had 5 little babies!!! First time mothers usually are clueless, and loose their first litter, but Sunflower has nested, lined her nest with the soft fur she yanked from her stomach, and has even already fed the babies (they have little rounded bellies!)
I'm so excited. I'm trying not to stress her out at all, but in a little while, I'll get some pictures!!!

Sunflower today, after yanking her soft hair out for her nest. Compare with last night's pictures ... she looks like we shaved her! I hope it grows back okay - she had the text-book perfect fur for a double-maned lionhead.

The nestbox. This is what I saw when I went to check on her. I thought "Still no babies.", but then the fur started wiggling ...

The babies:

They are such wrinkly little things. Kinda UGLY, but actually so cute!

For those that didn't know, a rabbit's gestational period is 31 days, give or take a day. TODAY was her due date. Last night we noticed her nesting like crazy, pulling her fur, arrainging it, pulling more fur, rearrainging the fluff, sitting on it, adjusting it, pulling more fluff ... over and over. It was so comical and cute!
Pictures: Sunflower nesting last night, yanking off her soft hair, carrying it around in her mouth, trying to decide where to build her nest (we got her a nest box quickly!)

I'm going to try to take a baby picture daily - they change so quickly, and I want to capture it - I'll post them each day so you can see them too!
