My little girls ... SISTERS

This is how I found my little girls the other afternoon during naptime. They do have their own beds ... they just like to snuggle together. It's moments like this that I am so happy they were born so close together (they are 16 months apart). Having 3 kids in 3 year has been really hard on me, but now that we are leaving the baby-stages behind, their age differences are so wonderful - they are all the best of friends. I'm hoping it stays that way as they grow up, because they are so tender to each other now. Yes, they have their fights, but my son reminded me: "mom, that's just what Best Friends do!"

Someday, when My Girls are fighting over the same pair of jeans, or who should wear what shirt, or (heaven forbid), who should get to be the one to "like" a certain friend of their brother's, I will pull this picture out, and remember that though they might fight, they share an unreversable bond of love. The bond of Sisters.

What is the bond of "sisters"?

It's the bond that allows you to stay awake giggling, far past when you remember why you are laughing - whether you're 4 or 40. It's the bond that allows a shared look to speak volumes - when just a look can cause both to burst into fits of giggles, or show each other compassionate love when the other is in trouble. It's the bond that allows you to sneak up in the middle of the night to share bowls of ice cream, and when you're caught, you can giggle like crazy together once you're sent to bed. It's the bond that helps you not be afraid of monsters or the dark - cause you have each other. It's the bond when you fight and sass at each other, but if anyone else tries to do the same towards one of the sisters, the other will defend her, and all their differences are gone. They might fight, and they might grow apart, but somewhere deep down, they will never loose the bond of Sisters!

I'm so glad that I have sisters (Love ya J & J!), but I'm also so glad that my daughters have each other. I might be their mother, but sisters is a bond they share with each other, and I love that at 1 and 2, they seem to get it already!

White Christmas' "Sisters":

Sisters, sisters
There were never such devoted sisters,
Never had to have a chaperone, No sir,
I'm there to keep my eye on her
Caring, sharing
Every little thing that we are wearing
When a certain gentleman arrived from Rome
She wore the dress, and I stayed home
All kinds of weather, we stick together
The same in the rain and sun
Two different faces, but in tight places
We think and we act as one
Those who've seen us
Know that not a thing could come between us
Many men have tried to split us up, but no one can
Lord help the mister who comes between me and my sister
And Lord help the sister, who comes between me and my man

I love this post! My 4 children are all about 2 years apart, and although having a 2 year old and a newborn is a very difficult stage for me, I love how my children develop friendships with each other as they get older.

Seriously adorable. Although it makes me sad that I can't have another baby right now! I would love to give Fat Girl a sister or Little Boy a brother!

Oh, that is wayyy to sweet! My girls are very close in age as well (20 months apart) and even though the early months were hard, especially on my older daughter, they are now they best of friends. And yes, they have their moments, but the sweet and wonderful moments are the ones that make my heart soar.

I never had sisters, only one brother, so I am so glad they have eachother.

I just love that picture. It is so endearing. :-)

Aw, this makes me want to try for a sister for my little girl! I hope she gets a sister, because I would be lost without my sisters!

One of my favorite movie songs! There were large gaps between all of the girls in my family (and there were no boys) but we still have a great bond. There will be a large gap between Animal and her future sisters (similar to the 5+ years between the two boys) but it's all worked out. Scooter and Gonzo are really close.

What a precious picture!
