Check out my sweet moon-boot!

Napoleon Dynamite would be proud. Sunny offers you her protection. Now I've just got to memorise Napoleon's sweet dance moves.

Yes. I fractured my foot. I have to wear the walking cast for a month ... at least it's not a full-out cast - I can take it off to shower (phew!) Wierd coincidence --- my mom is two states away, and also has fractured her foot, and has a twinner moon boot. It's too great a coincidence :) Poor mom!

My injury actually happened in June ... two days before my podiatrist BIL came in town to go fishing. I didn't ask him about it, cause I felt dumb, and didn't want to bug his vacation with "will you check out my foot?" I fugured it was a sprain or bruise or something. Well ... two months later it's stil hurting. Yes, I'm laughable.

You have to understand that this obsurd need to wait when something is broken also comes from my mother --- when I was 7, I crashed on my pink scooter (complete with handlebar streamers and spoke beads) and landed on my right thumb. It killed! My mom however, was convinced I was fine, unfortunantly 2 weeks later we found out it was broken.

Then there was my broken arm. I was in front of cute boy (I was 10 and had a major crush), and attempted to show off my sweet gymnastic moves. Unfortunately, handsprings are much harder when you're in the church parking lot than when on that spring-y gym floor. I then had to complete my role in the church nativity as an angel, then my mom took me home early. Later that night, she was finally convinced to take me to the hospital ... where we attempted to explain to the doctor what gymnastics was (we lived in Singapore then).

So you see, I have it engrained into me that if you break a bone, you are actually FINE until proven otherwise ... even if that takes two months of it still hurting when you walk or take your shoes off.

But hey, at least I'll get to learn some sweet dance moves, right?!

cool boot! I am the same with doctors, if you can't shake it off in a few days then its ok to go to a doctor. I had a broken ankle bonce and my roommates had to drag me to the hospital. I hate going just to find out what you already know and that they can't do anything about it.

I tripped on my sandals and broke my foot too! #1 was 1 month old at the time. Ever tried to carry a newborn on crutches? Yeah. Ain't pretty.
