Wish Lists

AngelBaby is excited for December ... and who would blame her - she has her birthday AND Christmas!

She's been preparing by writing up "Wish Lists"

This is what she wrote today:

Birthday Wish List:

~ Shapoo
~ Ruber Ducky

Christmas Wish List:

~ Kitty Stufft Animal
~ Ski Gear

She's never gone skiing, or had ski gear.  Curious, I asked her what ski gear was, and why she wanted it.

She replied: "I don't know, its for my doll."

(Come to find out, she saw THIS in a magazine, and onto her wish list it went!)

Random Silliness

Princess just came running into the kitchen, yelling "Help mom! My imaginary friend is after me!!!"

Silly Monkeys

I need to get better about documenting all the funny comments my children make.  They don't mean to be funny ... but I end up giggling WAY to often!

Tonight, AngelBaby came to me after dinner, and said:
"Hey mom, my nose breath smells like pizza ... or maybe my nose breath actually smells like rootbeer ... hmph."

Last Friday was the last day of school.  My SIL picked up my kids from school, and heard Superboy in the back. "YES!  I made it!  Phew!"  He kept repeating it, with a look of triumph on his face.  My SIL was amused, and said "Hey SuperBoy, you did make it through the last day of school, didn't you!" SuperBoy replied, "No, I'm just so happy I made it to the third grade!"

Princess was playing with her little cousin, when they got busted for throwing rocks at the Farmer next door.  They went to time outs without tears, and dutifully sat until the time was up.  When asked why they threw the rocks, they wouldn't answer until threatened with another time out.  Princess rose her hand, and said "Farmer T said he was going to cut off my piggytails."

God loves everyone.

The kids were watching a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episode, where Astronaut Goofy crashes on Mars.  Mickey said "kids, will you help Goofy get off of Mars?"

SuperBoy was being silly, and said "No, no we won't help him!"

Princess's face turned into a frown, and she turned to SuperBoy, and said "But we SHOULD help Goofy.  He's a Child of God too.  God loves everyone."

Sweetness at Midnight

At about midnight, I was packing up the guest room here at my mom's house (we're driving home in the morning), while the kids were sprawled across the room, fast asleep.  Suddenly Princess rolled over, opened her eyes (looking straight at me), and said "Hi mom!" with a big smile.  She continued "I just said a prayer.  You can say prayers anytime you know.  I like to pray."  Then she rolled over, and was fast asleep again.

Oh, Sweet, sleepy girl - I love you!

Dishes

I came in the kitchen today to find my kids doing dishes.  I turned to my sisters to scold them - I assumed that the 15 and 18 year old had ditched their chores onto my kids.  Turns out, my kids were the ones to initiate the dish-doing.

After the dishes were clean and put away, Princess came to me, and asked "Can we have lunch and dinner now?!"  I asked if she was hungry, and she replied, "no, but we want to do more dishes!"

Fire Safety

The kids have been working together to build a lego castle, and I have been organizing bookshelves.  I was sorting through the books, when I heard Princess say in an urgent voice: "OH! SuperBoy, what if there's a fire?!  We forgot to make two safe ways to get out of the castle!"  SuperBoy responded "Oh, man!  Now we gotta start all over!"   This little interchange was followed by the sounds of legos being scraped off the mat.

I guess fire safety IS important when you are building a medieval castle, complete with fire-breathing dragons.  Never underestimate emergency exit plans.

I ♥ Faces: Messy Face Entry

Markers + Toddler = Busted!

I laughed and grabbed the camera, and she burst into tears.  The best part is that my mom has a very similar picture of me when I was this age ... I drew "fishies" on my wall, and when caught, my mom grabbed the camera and I burst into tears from guilt!  Guess this little artist is like her mama!

Funny Princess!

Princess tends to be very solemn when she speaks, her eyes wide and serious as she talks.  Unfortunately, sometimes all that seriousness can make things even more comedic ... enhanced by her trouble with "r" and a missing front tooth that makes her "S" sound soooo cute.  Her "for" sounds like "foe", and "silly" has the slightest "sthilly".  It's pretty adorable.

Friday Night, Princess asked me very seriously:
"Mom, what's for dinner ... Or are you planning on starving us again?"

Today:
Me: "Princess, what are you going to be when you grow up?" (Now the LAST time I asked the same thing, the reply was "a ballerina princess")

Princess:
(quiet thinking for a moment)
"Either a Baker ...

("or a candlestick maker." DH chuckled under his breath)

"or a animal doctor - what's that word?"
(Veterinarian, I suplied)
"Right a veterinarian. I was also thinking about being a Suess."

A "Suess"

Oh, a writer like Dr Suess?  With some questioning she clarified that a "Suess" was someone who gives massages.

At least she has options ;)

Two Random Pictures

"One of these things is not like the other!" Can you find the odd item?

Is this why border collies are so smart?
